Instructor: Jason Kicherer 925-984-6680


Jason Kicherer has been giving softball and basball instruction since 2004.  Past and present students have gone on to play for colleges including Swarthmore, Cal Poly, UC Davis, Chico State, Cal State East Bay, and Westmont.  Jason specializes in hitting, fielding, throwing, and catching mechanics in addition to offering video analysis. He also offers boys pitching lessons. He currently runs the Future Stars and Prep 43' programs and gives clinics for SRVGAL.  

Jason has been part of the National Championship winning Danville Hoots since he was 19 and has participated in the Little League World Series as a head Coach. Jason won the National Championship in 1997 as an All Conference 3rd baseman for Chico State batting .372. He was an All Conference Utility and All Conference 3rd Baseman at Ohlone Jr. College. His last year at Ohlone he won the Batting Title with a .398 batting average and hit safely in every game (38 game hitting streak).

Lindsey Barnes, a former collegiate softball pitcher with over 16 years of coaching and training experience, is currently offering her professional pitching fundamentals to girls ages 8 and up. Lindsey has competed at the ASA 23U Nationals and Women's Major level.

Ryann is the head coach of the California Grizzlies JV softball team.  Coach Ryann played softball for over 15 years, most recently at the collegiate level where she graduated from Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, CA.  In her final season, Ryann made 1st Team All-Conference and, as an outfielder, was ranked #1 in the Conference in Fielding Percentage.  Ryann was also named Team Captain in her second year.

Coach Ryann brings to Stompers and the Academy her terrific knowledge of the sport, combined with her strong passion to teach others and her overall love for the game.  In addition to playing softball, Ryann has coached middle school players, as well as Little League players.  Ryann gives instruction on hitting, catching, and fielding. Natalie pitched for Concord High School's Varsity all four years with All Tourney Honors and was MVP both Junior & Senior years.  She played travel ball for many teams including Grapettes and Sorcerers.  Recruited by Oklahoma, Michigan, Michigan State, and others, she ultimately chose to play for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she played all four years.  She has given instruction to softball players of all ages at Nike's All-American Softball Camp in Reno, the All-American Softball Academy in Tracy, Sorcerers Softball Academy in San Ramon, Nor Cal Demons in Oakley, and East County Little League in Antioch.  She can be reached at or 925.285.5316 (text only). 

Instructor: BJ Heilmann 510-299-1694 

Raised in Pleasanton, BJ played softball for the PGSL, AVHS, Grapettes, and Tremors. A four-year letter winner at Humboldt State she was a team-elected captain for three seasons and broke multiple records over the course of her pitching career. BJ is a two-time HSU Hall of Fame inductee- once as a pitcher and the other as a player on the ‘99 D-II National Championship team.

BJ’s philosophy: more important than hitting and catching, softball is one way to develop life skills.
Punctuality, hard work, making and reaching goals, teamwork, and perseverance are just a few
attributes playing a sport has to offer. Successful athletes will be able to apply these skills in their
discipline, regardless of their level of play. Successful people will apply these traits in all areas of their life.

BJ has coached softball and little league athletes over the past twenty years. She lives in San Ramon, is married, has two kids, and manages the Event Services Group at the University of California, Office of the President.

Abigail is a Bay Area native and former Division 1 pitcher at UC Santa Barbara. Since 2002, Abigail has been giving private pitching lessons and clinics to softball players around the Bay Area, with several of her pitchers going on to play at the collegiate level.  Abigail specializes in pitching and works with girls of all ages and skill levels, from developing and perfecting fundamental pitch mechanics to advanced pitch count strategies and game management. 

Abigail has a thorough knowledge of the game and is passionate about girls participating in sports.   With over 15 years’ experience as a communications leader, Abigail knows firsthand the life lessons learned from training and working hard to perfect a skill.
